Brookend Fishery is located in Hartlebury, around 6 miles from Kidderminster.
The fishery consists of 3 pools that are surrounded by 8 acres of beautiful Worcestershire countryside. All of the lakes contain carp, with the larger ones residing in the bottom pool.
Bottom Pool is stocked with a good head of carp and the average size is low double-figures, with a number of upper double-figure fish in support.
Although the lake record is listed at 34lb, it is unlikely that it is still in the lake, with the largest captures in recent years being at the lower end of the 20lb bracket.
Day tickets are priced at £5 for the use of 1 rod, with each additional rod costing £2. Night fishing must be arranged in advance and is charged at £24 per 24 hour period.

Heron Pool is a match lake which has a good stock of carp to upper double-figures. Peacock Pool is the smallest of the lakes and also has a good head of carp, with the larger residents exceeding 20lb in weight.
Pheasant Pool is the biggest of the lakes, extending to around 2 acres in size. It also boasts the deepest water, with some areas reaching as much as 12ft. Although matches do take place on this water, it is recognised as the specimen lake of the complex where the average size carp is low/mid double-figures. A number of 20lb+ fish are also present and the lake record tipped the scales at over 31lb.
Certain baits can be bought on-site, though anglers relying on items being in stock are advised to ring in advance. There are male, female and disabled toilet facilities available.

Larford Lakes is located near Astley Cross, approximately 3 miles from Stourport.
The complex boasts a total of 3 lakes and a stretch of the River Severn. The Match Lake and Arena Lake are both aimed at pleasure anglers, so we will take a look at the Specimen Lake in a bit more detail.
Covering close to 20 acres of water, the specimen lake is the largest of the 3 lakes and has 90 pegs. In addition to carp, other species such as roach, bream, perch and tench are all present and are regularly caught at impressive weights.
The lake record carp tipped the scales at over 30lb, though it is likely that there are much bigger specimens residing here. The lake is well stocked with carp, with the average size being in the region of mid double-figures.
There is a large cafe on-site that serves meals, snacks and drinks. Male, female and disabled toilets are available, as well as a secure car park that is monitored by CCTV.
Night fishing is possible at this wonderful Worcestershire venue, but must be arranged in advance with the owners. Day tickets are priced at £9 per rod.

Wyre Dell Lake is the smaller of the 2 day ticket lakes, covering around 1 acre of water. Although other species are present, this lake is heavily stocked with small carp, with the largest being in the region of mid double-figures. The fish are rapidly gaining weight, so it shouldn’t be too long before this lake has an abundance of 20lb+ carp.
Stella Lake is very slightly bigger than Wyre Dell Lake, at just over 1 acre in size. Although this lake also has mixed species, it does boast the larger carp of the day ticket lakes. This is a relatively easy runs water, with the average size carp being low double-figures and some of the fish now starting to cross the 20lb barrier.
There are toilets and showers on-site and many of the local takeaways will deliver to the main gate. Anglers wishing to join the syndicate must register their interest in advance.

Wilden Pool is located in Wilden, approximately 2 miles from Stourport.
The fishery is set within 7.5 acres of beautiful Worcestershire countryside and boasts some breathtaking views.
The lake extends to 5 acres in size and has 50 pegs. Although this may sound like a lot for the size of the lake, the positioning of the pegs means that it never feels crowded.
The central island runs almost the entire length of the lake and acts as a divide between the east and west banks. The perimeter of the lake is tree-lined, with mature margins and various shrubs.
This is a mixed coarse fishery, so many different species of fish exist. The average size carp is low double-figures, with a good number of 20lb+ fish. Both common and mirror carp have exceeded 30lb in weight, with the lake record somewhere in the mid-30lb bracket.
Day tickets are valid from dawn to dusk and are priced at £8. Night fishing tickets are available for £15, while a 24 hour ticket cost £20.
