Avalon Fisheries is located in Westhay, in the heart of the Somerset levels. It lies just 7 miles from the quirky town of Glastonbury, with visitors to the famous Glastonbury Tor able to see the fishery as they look out over the isle of Avalon.

You will find 3 lakes on the Avalon Fisheries complex. Moors Lake is a match water, Fenwood is a specimen lake for syndicate members only and Heath Lake is their day ticket carp lake.

Heath Lake now has 16 pegs across the 2 acres of water (it was previously 23 pegs, making it extremely crowded when it busy). With that being said, there is a generous stock of carp and the current lake record tipped the scales in excess of 30lb. Night fishing is restricted to a maximum of 14 pegs.

Most areas of the lake have water depths fluctuating between 3ft and 6ft and the margins are known to be particularly productive at this east Somerset fishery.

Heath Lake can also be booked for lake exclusives, making it perfect for social sessions (as long as you have enough like-minded angling friends!) All lake exclusive sessions will need to be discussed with the management to ensure that the dates don’t clash with existing bookings.


Avalon Fisheries boasts a large car park near the entrance, as well as toilet facilities nearby. Day tickets and a small range of tackle can be purchased from the on-site shop.
